I’ve had the pleasure of being the chair of the Disaster Recovery Journal Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) for the past two years. This is the second time I have been nominated to hold the EAB chair position which demonstrates my commitment to working with other industry professionals to promote and enhance our profession. There are 16 dedicated EAB board members comprised of business continuity vendors and practitioners who are committed to promoting and enhancing the professionalism and effectiveness of business continuity.
All EAB members are volunteers and our goal when we attend DRJ conferences is the same – to provide mentorship and guidance to other industry professionals by attending both the spring and fall DRJ conferences and making ourselves available to attendees should they need information or support in their profession. If we don’t have an answer to a question, we will quickly reach out to other industry professionals to find the answer to the question.
As I’ve mentioned in other columns, the EAB is responsible for supporting a number of volunteer committees that maintain resources available on the DRJ Website under the tab “resources.”

We are trying something new at DRJ Spring 2019, in Orlando. The EAB will staff a booth located next to the DRJ booth. Each of the above committees will be available at the booth to share information about their committees. The schedule below provides the dates and times each committee will be available at the EAB booth:

Handouts will also be available providing information about each of the committees.
I will roll-off as chair after DRJ Spring 2019 (due to term limits) but will continue to serve throughout my final membership term until September 2020. This includes being chair the glossary committee and a member on all other EAB committees. My goal is to continue to share my knowledge and experience by contributing towards the industry in any way possible.
