6 Best Tips for Finding the Next Prospect Candidate

by Jon Seals | February 23, 2022 | | 0 comments

Looking for your next great prospect candidate can feel daunting, especially when it feels like employees are resigning en masse. Where do you start? What are the best tips for finding them? In this blog post, we will discuss some strategies you can use to find the best candidates for your agency so that your business can grow and thrive with a team that’s supportive and enthusiastic about your mission.

1. Look online

Easily one of the best and most convenient places to find great prospects is online. With a multitude of websites built specifically to connect job-seekers with recruiters, you’ll have your pick of candidates that fit your basic search criteria. You can search by skills, education, experience, and location so you have a solid start with connecting potential recruits to bring on to your team.

It’s a two-way street as well: post an enticing job posting that will grab the attention of your ideal candidate and watch the resumes roll in!

2. Networking

Put on that smile, grab a handful of your cards and head on out to the real world! Networking events are a great way to build professional relationships and contribute to others’ professional aspirations. While the rule of networking is to give, give, give, it’s also okay to put it out there that you’re looking for someone to fill a position. Connecting at networking events as opposed to online often accelerates professional relationships because people are getting to know each other in real life, and trust and a willingness to help and connect are stronger.

There’s also the chance that you might find that ideal recruit at one of these events! Check out Meetup or Eventbrite for events happening in your town.

3. Use a staffing agency

If you’re having a hard time finding the right prospective candidates on your own, you might want to consider working with a staffing agency. Staffing agencies have access to many talented job seekers who are looking for their next opportunity as well as agency software that creates a streamlined advantage for hr recruiters. They can also help you find candidates that fit your agency’s specific needs and culture.

4. Attend job fairs and industry events

Job fairs and industry events are great places to find candidates who are actively seeking employment. You can also network with other agency owners at these types of events, which could lead to more opportunities for you in the future!

5. Check out social media sites like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook

LinkedIn was built specifically for people who are actively networking, looking for a job, or recruiting new personnel. As an hr manager, you can search for specific criteria including education, job title, and location. Depending on people’s privacy settings, you can reach out and connect with a message inviting them to learn more about your open position.

LinkedIn isn’t the only place to find recruits, however. The line between personal and professional is more blurred than it ever was and people are searching for, or are open to hearing about, job opportunities on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok. If you have a professional page for the company you’re working for, simply create a post that would speak to your ideal candidate and either give them the link or tell them how to get ahold of you in the post. From there, simply share far and wide with your network. Even though the people in your immediate network or followers of your business page might not be your ideal candidate, chances are that one of them knows someone who just might be who you’re looking for.

6. Get referrals from friends and colleagues

Speaking of people who know people, referrals from friends, family, and colleagues are one of the best ways to find candidates for agency positions. Referrals can be a great way to build trust with agency owners because they’ll know that you’re not just hiring someone off the street but have been recommended by someone who has worked with them before!

You can use HR recruitment software to get referrals from friends, family members, or business associates. Most hr recruitment software will allow you to create lists of preferred agencies that can be supportive in creating long-term relationships built on trust and mutual benefits.

The best way to find the next prospective candidate is by looking for and understanding their needs. Doing so will help you provide them with a solution that they were not aware of, but now need – making your business stand out from competitors. We hope these tips have been helpful!
