AEGIX Global to Deploy Active Incident Management System, AIM at Utah State Capitol One Year Following Events of January 6

Groundbreaking technology platform helps safeguard Utah State Capitol Building by streamlining the management of emergencies for facility-specific and critical community incidents

SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AEGIX Global today announced it has contracted with the State of Utah to deploy AIM (Incident Management System), powered by DIR-S, a fully customizable active incident management system, at the Utah State Capitol Building complex.


“One year following the events of January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol building, the state of Utah is recognizing that there is no substitute for preparedness, communication and situational awareness at every stage of an emergency, whether the emergency is man-made or a natural disaster,” said Chet Linton, CEO of AEGIX Global. “The AIM system directly addresses some of the toughest challenges of emergency management in a sophisticated, yet extremely easy to use app. AIM answers what is happening, who needs help and exactly where it is needed. More than simple text alerts, AIM serves as the communication hub. It empowers everyone who is impacted including, legislators, civic leaders, security staff, first responders and members of the community to actively communicate and effectively manage a variety of emergency situations.”

AIM is a user-friendly push-button app to manage facility-specific emergencies from a desktop, patrol car or smartphone. The application allows individuals in an organization to notify others of an emergency with a touch of a button. It uses patented mapping technology that gives first responders, including local police, firefighters and medical staff maps of the buildings with location information so they can go directly where they need to be to address the situation safely and efficiently. It will naturally streamline and improve how emergencies are managed room-by-room and building by building throughout the State Capitol complex.

Emergency Management Platform

According to FEMA, studies show that during an incident, information is as critically important to people as food or water. Not only can accurate information mean the difference between life and death, it can provide reassurance that response and recovery are truly underway.

State officials are integrating this application as an essential component of emergency management to prepare for both common health emergencies as well as worst-case scenarios such as active shooters or civil unrest, which was witnessed during the events of January 6, last year.

The app enables communication inside and outside the capitol building during emergencies real-time with chat features and a simple push-button feature for individuals to let others know if they are “safe” or “unsafe.” In addition to communication, photos, images, and videos can be shared among the group during an incident. AIM gives leaders and first responders new levels of real-time situational awareness.

Not only does AIM manage communications, but it also allows those on the system, including leaders to account for individuals, such as employees or tour groups. Furthermore, it provides for reverse-alerts, which instantly notify security staff as well as nearby schools, city buildings and so forth about a dangerous situation such as an approaching armed suspect. Reverse-alerts let leaders initiate lockdown protocols in seconds to help keep people safe and out of harm’s way.

AEGIX will provide training for state leaders, first responders and others. It will also provide the security staff with training and guidance regarding how to use AIM to develop optimal emergency plans, how and when to conduct drills and how best to interact with first responders and others.
