Alpha Media, the 4th Largest Radio Broadcaster in the U.S., Named Nationwide Marketing Partner
Los Angeles, CA – Cavalry Audio, the podcasting arm of Cavalry Media today announced Tuesday’s launch of “Can You Survive This Podcast?”, their latest venture in the audio world. Hosted by former Navy SEAL, preeminent American survivalist, and best-selling author Cade Courtley, the show explores hypothetical life-threatening situations and asks the question: “Will you be a survivor or a statistic?”
The recurring weekly podcast series aims to entertain as well as educate by providing the essential tools, knowledge, and confidence necessary to face any disaster. The series will welcome guests who have survived horrific events or overcome harrowing situations, unpacking their experiences and providing lessons through their strength. Additionally, a choose-your-own-adventure format will invite celebrity personalities to live out a life-threatening scenario to see how and if they would survive. From earthquakes and home invasions to tsunamis and global pandemics, each episode puts the listener in the center of the action.
Alpha Media, the fourth largest owners of radio stations in U.S., will act as the exclusive radio partner for the podcast and promote the series widely across its national platform. Alpha’s network serves 198 local radio brands in 46 markets, and typically reaches 6 million unique listeners per week.
During his nine years of active duty, Courtley served as a platoon commander of SEAL Team One, sniper, and Senior SEAL instructor. After leaving the Navy he continued his service as a CIA security contractor, making his motivation for the podcast very clear. “I spent half my life trained to make people go away,” Lt. Courtley commented. “I’m spending the second half training them to stick around.” After hosting Spike TV’s “Surviving Disaster” a decade ago, he wanted to continue to educate people on how to survive any situation, making the series more relevant now that ever. “If we’ve learned anything from the current pandemic, the question is not ‘IF it happens to me, but WHEN?”
The first episode will feature Rob O’Neill, the former Navy SEAL and special warfare operator responsible for killing Osama bin Laden during the Abbottabad compound raid in 2011. Upcoming guests sharing their experiences will include Steven Callahan, who survived 76 days at sea in 1981 and famed merchant mariner and “Captain Phillips” film inspiration Richard Phillips. Guests who will play “Can You Survive This Podcast?” will include podcasting superstar Adam Carolla, astrophysicist and “Cosmos” host Neil deGrasse Tyson, award-winning stuntwoman Zoë Bell, stunt performer and comedian Steve-O, podcaster Jordan Harbinger, motivational speaker and vlogger Jay Shetty, and actor A.J. Buckley. Every episode will promote a non-profit veteran and/or military family organization and make a donation on behalf of the podcast.
Commented Keegan Rosenberger, co-founder and CEO of Cavalry Media, “Cavalry has made a commitment to growing its podcast division over the course of 2020 through shows that are motivational, suspenseful, and uniquely entertaining. ‘Can You Survive This Podcast?’ checks every box and we could not be more excited to have Cade leading us through this, or any, unchartered territory.”
