HazAdapt Empowers Communities’ Local Safety Information

by Jon Seals | June 2, 2023 | | 0 comments

CORVALLIS, Ore. – HazAdapt, Inc., the tech startup pioneering in emergency and public safety engagement technology, is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking addition to their app, HazAdapt. The new feature automatically boosts local safety information and resources to users based on their current location. Hosted within

HazAdapt’s comprehensive Hazard Guide, this localized information is available in seven languages and can be accessed offline.

With this innovative service, users now have the ability to customize and receiver-orient safety information to their unique circumstances, and geographical location.

HazAdapt CEO Ginny Katz emphasized the significance of this development in enhancing community resilience, stating, “Emergency response always begins at the local level, and the availability of assistance and resources varies based on where you are when you call for help. Many people are often unaware of the local crisis, safety, and community resources beyond calling 911. HazAdapt bridges this gap by connecting individuals to their local assets, increasing visibility and accessibility alongside nationally available resources.”

Thousands of individuals across the United States rely on the HazAdapt app and web tool to access preparation, response, and recovery information at a moment’s notice. With an easy-to-use design and no signup required, HazAdapt serves as a convenient “on-the-go hazard guide” for individuals at all levels of preparedness.

This new local safety information feature is a game-changer for emergency managers and community resilience teams, offering an additional channel to disseminate crucial information, links, and contacts to both residents and visitors in the area. For example, cities can utilize this feature to promote sign-up links for emergency alerts and share seasonal cautions for flood or wildfire risk areas. Universities and large event venues can enhance their safety information by providing crisis support contacts specific to their campuses, such as procedures for handling disruptive person incidents or official safety phone numbers for unique laboratory or animal-related hazards.

About HazAdapt

HazAdapt Inc. is a humanity-friendly information engagement technology company that focuses on emergency communication and public wellness. Its tools, including mobile and web apps, are designed to support users of all preparedness levels in hazardous situations.
