DULLES, Va. — Nightwing, the national security solutions company defining the edge of possible to advance our national security interests, announced today that it has met the requirements for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 as of April 29, achieving a perfect score in the assessment. This milestone is a testament to Nightwing’s unwavering commitment to delivering advanced cybersecurity solutions that uphold the highest standards of safeguarding sensitive government information.
The CMMC Level 2 certification validates Nightwing’s compliance with stringent War Department cybersecurity requirements for Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). By achieving this certification through rigorous assessment by a Certified Third-Party Assessor Organization (C3PAO), Nightwing has reinforced its role as a trusted partner protecting national defense and intelligence missions.
“As threats evolve and the complexity of safeguarding critical assets increases, this achievement demonstrates Nightwing’s leadership and proactive approach in fortifying its cybersecurity measures,” said John Xereas, Chief Information Officer at Nightwing. “CMMC Level 2 certification affirms our ability to provide reliable, resilient capabilities to our government partners, ensuring that mission-critical systems remain secure even in the face of highly determined adversaries. And securing a perfect score of 110 points in the assessment showcases the exceptional expertise, diligence, and dedication of our team in delivering cybersecurity excellence.”
CMMC Level 2 incorporates 110 security requirements from NIST SP 800-171 R2 and requires either a self-assessment or independent certification by a C3PAO every three years, with annual affirmation requirements. The program is designed to enforce cybersecurity standards across the defense industrial base to better protect FCI and CUI. The model fosters trust and ensures compliance to protect sensitive information processed, stored, or transmitted by contractors and subcontractors during contract performance.
