ODATA Secures Landmark Green Financing, Setting New Standard for Latin American Data Centers

by Jon Seals | September 5, 2025 | | 0 comments

New $1.02 Billion Strategic Funding Accelerates Sustainable Data Center Construction

São Paulo, Brazil – ODATA, an Aligned Data Centers Company (“ODATA” or the “Company”), a leader in the construction and operation of data centers in Latin America, today announced a $1.02 billion in green financing focused on sustainable data center infrastructure investments. With this financing — the largest of its kind for data centers in Latin America — ODATA reaches a total of US $2.25 billion in financing, further strengthening its financial foundation to meet the growing demand for cloud and AI infrastructure, while maintaining the highest standards of sustainability.

“This historic achievement, representing the largest issuance of sustainable data center financing in Latin America, has allowed ODATA to build a solid financial structure. With these high-quality resources, we’re incredibly well-positioned to empower our customers in their digital infrastructure expansion across the region,” says Rafael Bomeny, CFO of ODATA. “This green financing also reinforces our mission to contribute to Latin America’s sustainable development by leading the way in adopting innovative technologies that drive a more efficient future for our customers and communities.”

The new funding has been provided by a syndicate of financial partners, including Apterra, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, Deutsche Bank, MUFG Bank, Ltd., Natixis Corporate and Investment Banking, Nomura, Societe Generale, and SMBC. Funding will be used for data center projects that meet the highest standards of sustainability, including energy efficiency targets, renewable energy use, and sustainable construction practices.

Additionally, the expansion of this financing strengthens ODATA’s leadership position in the Latin American data center market. It will support the company’s growth across key regional markets — Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia — ensuring these countries have access to world-class IT infrastructure capable of supporting the sustainable growth of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

“Sustainability is a top priority for ODATA. In addition to major investments in renewable energy, we adopt designs that seek the highest levels of energy efficiency without wasting water. With this new green financing, we can continue contributing to the development of Latin America’s digital infrastructure while upholding the highest standards of sustainability,” Bomeny adds.

ODATA, a pioneer in energy strategy, is the first hyperscale data center in Latin America to self-produce 100% renewable energy in Brazil. The Company also recently introduced the exclusive Delta Cube (Delta³) air-cooling technology to the region, developed and patented by parent company Aligned Data Centers. Designed to support high-density power loads, this solution can cool up to 50kW per rack in the same row and is ready for integration with advanced liquid cooling systems. These initiatives underscore ODATA’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in Latin America’s digital infrastructure.
