Sectigo Advances Post‑Quantum Readiness with Private PQC Certificates Built intoSectigo Certificate Manager

by Jon Seals | April 14, 2026 | | 0 comments

Company enables PQC experimentation within everyday certificate operations, giving organizations a practical path to quantum preparedness

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Sectigo, a global leader in automated Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) and digital certificates, today announced Private PQC, a new feature within Sectigo Certificate Manager (SCM). The capability brings PQC testing directly into Sectigo’s flagship CLM solution, enabling enterprises to issue and manage private PQC SSL/TLS certificates using familiar SCM workflows for approvals, visibility, auditing, renewals, and revocations. This gives organizations a straightforward, low‑risk way to begin working with PQC inside their existing certificate operations.

Enterprises Turning to Sectigo for Practical PQC Readiness

Google and Cloudflare’s decisions to advance their PQC migration timelines to 2029 underscore the accelerating urgency of quantum‑safe preparation. While 90% of organizations expect to fund PQC initiatives in the next 12 months, most will struggle to move from planning to execution across fragmented legacy environments and overloaded security teams. Private PQC delivers a safe, realistic way to test PQC certificates in live workflows directly within SCM, without disrupting existing PKI.

“With major players in the industry accelerating PQC timelines, organizations need a controlled, low‑risk way to start testing quantum‑safe certificates to build both confidence and capability before quantum disruption arrives,” said Henry Lam, Field CTO at Sectigo. “Private PQC in Sectigo Certificate Manager gives enterprises a safe, practical way to build real post‑quantum experience without new infrastructure, new tools, or added operational risk. At Sectigo, we are dedicated to supporting every customer’s transition into the quantum era by embedding PQC readiness at the core of their existing PKI operations.”

PQC Testing Without the Infrastructure Burden

Unlike traditional sandbox environments that require standalone labs or entirely new tooling, Private PQC lowers the barrier to entry for quantum readiness. IT and security teams can immediately begin testing PQC SSL/TLS certificates within their active environment, governed by the same enterprise policies that protect their standard digital identities. Key features include:

  • Native SCM Integration: Manage PQC certificates alongside standard certificates using familiar policy-based approvals and centralized visibility.
  • Standardized Algorithms: Supports ML-DSA (Module-Lattice-Based Digital Signature Algorithm) strengths including ML-DSA-44, ML-DSA-65, and ML-DSA-87.
  • Fully Managed Risk: The service is hosted by Sectigo and backed by a virtual Hardware Security Module (HSM), eliminating the need for customers to deploy or secure their own experimental cryptographic infrastructure.

A Deliberate Path to Quantum Resilience

“PQC preparation should align with an organization’s broader security strategy and help teams prepare confidently for the changes ahead,” added Lam. “When it comes to certificate operations, we built Private PQC to replace the uncertainty of the post-quantum era with an actionable path towards total digital trust.”

Together with Sectigo PQC Labs, Private PQC provides a clear progression from initial education and sandbox experimentation to operational testing in live workflows. By utilizing Sectigo’s real-world PKI expertise and ongoing involvement in global standards development, early adopters can navigate the complex cryptographic landscape with greater clarity and confidence.

Existing Sectigo Private CA customers can request access to Private PQC today directly through SCM or via their Sectigo representative.
