Vector Solutions Introduces AI-Powered Enhancements to Streamline Fire Department Training, Scheduling, and Inspections

by Jon Seals | April 2, 2026 | | 0 comments

New voice-enabled and automated capabilities across Vector’s fire service solutions help agencies capture training activity, manage staffing rules, and complete inspections more efficiently

TAMPA, Fla. – Vector Solutions, the leading provider of technology solutions to help train, prepare, and retain public safety professionals, today announced AI enhancements coming to its fire service technology suite, with updates to TargetSolutions, Vector Check It, and Vector Scheduling. The new capabilities will introduce voice-driven documentation, automated scheduling logic, and AI-assisted inspections designed to help fire departments capture training records, manage staffing rules, and complete equipment and apparatus checks in the field.

U.S. fire departments respond to a fire somewhere in the country every 24 seconds, while also maintaining extensive training, inspection, and compliance records. From recording live training activity to documenting apparatus checks and managing callback rules, many departments still rely on manual processes that create significant administrative workload for personnel operating in high-tempo environments.

Vector Solutions’ upcoming AI enhancements are designed to reduce this burden by simplifying documentation and automating complex workflows across the systems departments rely on every day.

“Fire departments operate in fast-moving environments where every second matters,” said Josh Grossman, General Manager of Public Sector at Vector Solutions. “Our goal with these AI capabilities is to make documentation faster and more intuitive, allowing departments to capture accurate information in real time without adding administrative burden to their teams.”

The new enhancements span three core Vector Solutions platforms, bringing intelligent automation to common workflows used across fire departments.

VoiceComplete in TargetSolutions – AI-Enabled Training Record Completions

New voice-to-text transcription capabilities allow firefighters and training officers to quickly capture live training activity. Personnel can record training using voice input, which the system automatically converts into structured records. The mobile-friendly workflow streamlines field documentation while improving accuracy and reducing time spent on administrative tasks.

VoiceCheck in Vector Check It – AI-Driven Inspection Checklists

Voice-driven AI capabilities within Vector Check It allows personnel to complete inspections and checklists using natural speech. As users describe issues or observations, the system automatically identifies relevant checklist items and updates them accordingly. This reduces the need to manually interact with a mobile device during inspections while improving documentation consistency and minimizing user input errors.

CallbackAssist in Vector Scheduling – AI Callback Ranking Rules Engine

A new AI-powered rules engine enables departments to build and manage complex callback and overtime ranking rules without custom coding. Departments can input their scheduling logic into the system, which automatically generates the necessary ranking rules. This eliminates reliance on spreadsheets and manual calculations while ensuring the process remains transparent and auditable.

“Firefighters often perform inspections and equipment checks in environments where stopping to type into a mobile device isn’t practical or possible,” said Robbi King, a 27-year veteran firefighter, former Chief Officer, and now Director, Public Sector Solutions Engineer at Vector Solutions. “Voice-driven AI makes it easier to capture what’s happening in real-time, which improves accuracy while making the process much more efficient for personnel in the field.”

To learn more about how AI is helping fire departments modernize training, scheduling, and inspections, register for Vector Solutions’ upcoming webinar, The Future of Fire Service Technology: Introducing AI Across the Vector Suite on April 9, exploring how agencies can prepare for the next generation of fire service technology. The team will also showcase these AI enhancements at FDIC International (April 20-25) in Indianapolis, Indiana, Booth #1917.
