Zerto Appoints New Executive Leadership to Reinforce a Decade of Strong Company Culture

by Jon Seals | February 7, 2020 | | 0 comments

Sofia Kaufman Joins Zerto as New Chief People Officer

BOSTON – Zerto, an industry leader for IT resilience, today announces both the appointment of Sofia Kaufman as its first Chief People Officer and that Chief Marketing Officer, Gil Levonai, is expanding his role. Kaufman’s new position will focus on the people-first principles that are the foundation of Zerto’s renowned culture. Levonai will take on the responsibilities of Senior Vice President of Product, rounding out the new executive makeup.

Kaufman brings more than a decade of experience elevating corporate culture, most recently as CPO at Intralinks. She is a leader with a record of building and empowering effective teams and strong cultures. Her expertise spans both the public and private sector and extends through the lifecycle of a company–be it start-up phase, growth-mode or seeing organizations through acquisitions. Kaufman’s professional emphasis on growing global companies has resulted in specialized skills in talent management, culture transformation, professional development, organizational evolution and people operations.

“We’re excited for Sofia to join Zerto. Her background and approach are deeply aligned with Zerto’s commitment to our team,” said Ziv Kedem, CEO of Zerto. “Employees invest their time, energy and expertise into an organization’s success, and this commitment should be reciprocal. The relationship is not just about compensation and benefits; employees need to feel the impact of their roles, grow strategically in their careers, live the company values and know that those around them do too.”

“People are every company’s most important asset and investment; the Zerto team embodies that principle. I am excited to build on the strong company values and enhance Zerto’s people-first culture,” said Kaufman. “Zerto’s IT Resilience Platform is a leading solution in the industry and is well positioned to maintain that role. Ensuring people programs and a ‘one-company’ culture grows at the same pace as product development and market expansion is how excelling global organizations are sustained.”

Kedem also remarked, “We are pleased to have Gil take on the added responsibilities as Senior Vice President of Product. He has spearheaded Zerto’s corporate vision since its earliest days and helped establish many of the practices that have pushed Zerto to become the industry leader for IT resilience that it is today. In this role, Gil will lead and drive both our product and go-to-market strategies to address the ever-changing dynamics of the market.”

This announcement follows the recent appointment announcements of Coley Burke, Chris Nelson, Nick Burke, Emily Weeks and Eric Barnhart. Kaufman and Levonai’s announcement underscores Zerto’s commitment to creating a culture of people development and growth equal to the product evolution and development.
