For most people, the term “business continuity” conjures thoughts of complex plans, choreographed drills and heightened data security. Despite the increasing priority of continuity initiatives on corporate agendas and advances in business continuity technologies, the focus, and subsequent activity, of professionals charged with such responsibilities remains somewhat static. The most common oversight in the enterprise business continuity equation is the absence of effective, time-sensitive communications in the case of any natural, technical or man-made disruption. With a dramatic rise in the number of threats facing enterprises, never has it been more important to ensure continuity of operations.
