Get the Most out of Your DRJ Attendance

As I step down as chairperson of the Disaster Recovery Journal’s Editorial Advisory Board (EAB), I have been thinking about what I could share that would benefit new conference attendees and professionals growing their business continuity knowledge base. If you are planning to attend the DRJ Spring or Fall World conferences, know the topics your organization is focusing on before signing up for breakout sessions and workshops. For example, if crisis communication is your organizations current focus, talk with individuals in your organization, such as your CEO, COO, legal, security or communications team, and let them know you are attending a conference where crisis communication will be a topic of discussion. Ask if there is specific material they would like you to bring back from the conference which may be of benefit to their planning strategies.
