Information technology provides enormous value for organizations, but it can also represent a tremendous point of weakness. No matter your industry, data drives your business. And when markets are global, employees work around the clock and business is effectively always on. Any interruption to application availability can quickly lead to lost revenue, lost productivity, lost brand value, and regulatory problems. Taken to the extreme, extended downtime can even threaten the survival of a business. Imagine a day in the life of your business without critical data and then assess the risks. How should organizations deal with this type of existential threat? As it stands, the painful reality is that most businesses do not deal with it well, if they deal with it at all. Downtime and data loss are facts of life for businesses that rely on IT. Offsetting this risk with the right technology must be a consideration at the earliest
