Remembering a Hero, Finding New Ones

Written by  Ed Devlin

Good news. Reinforcements are coming. People interested in business continuity planning are studying to become more knowledgeable of this industry. In the near future, they will be supporting the efforts of our current BCP professionals, either as emergency response or business resumption professionals. Why do I say this? I recently enjoyed a discussion with a number of graduate students at Elmira College. Dr. Tom Phelan is teaching a course entitled “Organizational Risk and Crisis Management in both Public and Private Sectors.” (It is one of five courses in the emergency/disaster preparedness concentration in the Master of Science Degree Program in Management). One of the textbooks being used in his course is my new book – “Crisis Management Planning and Execution.”
