Many studies have been done on the factors that help crisis management teams succeed. These offer a lot of helpful information. However, they are of limited use to the business continuity manager who is looking for guidance on how to help his or her crisis management team fail. In this post, I thought I might fill the gap by offering my five tips on how to help your crisis management team make a bad situation worse. These tips arise from my years of working on business continuity planning with organizations in many fields and of all sizes, including several Fortune 500 corporations.
