Some key takeaways from this episode include:

  • Be extremely intentional about the companies you’re spending money with. Can you spend your money with a business owned by people of color? Can you promote them to your friends and family and encourage them to invest in them as well?
  • Communities need to hold major healthcare facilities accountable for creating equitable opportunities for healthcare access.
  • Transportation is closely related to quality of life. Quality of life is not sitting in traffic for hours. Reliable mass transit makes cities accessible, and improves the quality of life of its residents and visitors.
  • Turn your attention to local government. Hold your own mayor and city council accountable for investing in the community and creating equitable and sustainable infrastructure.
