The Forgotten Small Things

A few weeks ago, I received an interesting email from an old friend. He had received an emergency notification email about a threat to his prior place of work. They were going to close the local federal building due to an unspecified threat. He was not supposed to show up to work that day. This was during a time when federal buildings across the country were the scene of real violence between police forces and protestors.
