Michael W. Janko Joins the DRJ Executive Council

I am pleased to share that Michael W. Janko will be joining the Disaster Recovery Journal Executive Council, bringing one of the most respected and accomplished voices in our profession into the leadership team that guides DRJ’s future.

Mike’s four decades of experience span global business continuity leadership at Goodyear, Nestle and Stouffer Hotels. His work has helped organizations navigate and minimize the impact of more than 3,900 incidents and crises, and Goodyear’s global business continuity process is recognized widely as a private sector model for resilience excellence. He is a published author, with “Excellence in Operational Resilience” reaching No. 1 on Amazon as a new release.

He also brings a rare blend of technical expertise and personal character, holding designations such as MBCP, MBCI, ARM, CBCLA, and CEOE, along with a background in mechanical engineering. Outside of work, Mike is known for his dedication to family and his impressive achievements in athletics and martial arts, including a 5th degree black belt and two world records for Marine style sit ups.

Many in the continuity and resilience community know that DRJ has seen its share of twists and turns over the decades as the industry grew and evolved. Mike has had a front row seat to much of that history. What stands out most is that through it all, he remained a connector, a collaborator and someone who has always put the advancement of the profession ahead of politics. His move to the DRJ Executive Council reflects a shared commitment to raising the bar for integrity, education and community across our space.

As DRJ continues shaping a more unified and forward leaning era of operational resilience, we are proud to welcome a leader whose values align so strongly with that direction. Mike’s insight, steadiness and practical experience will strengthen the work we are doing today and the innovations ahead in 2026 and beyond.

Please join me in welcoming Mike to the DRJ Executive Council.
