EDITOR’S NOTE: Leading up to DRJ Spring 2025, Disaster Recovery Journal will highlight the authors featured in the “Resilience Reads: Meet the Authors” exhibition in Orlando, Fla.

Imagine having a discussion and a cup of coffee with a distinguished expert in business continuity management, emergency management, and information and cybersecurity. That was the goal of Dr. Michael C. Redmond with her latest book, “Mastering Your Work-Life Balance.”

Dr. Michael C. Redmond

With more than 20 years of experience, Redmond has served as an adjunct professor at institutions such as John Jay Graduate School, NYU, University of Maryland, and Mercy College. She holds numerous certifications, including MBCP, FBCI, CEM, ISO 22301 Senior Lead Implementer, and ISO 22301 Senior Lead Auditor. As the CEO and lead consultant at RedmondWorldwide.org, she has consulted for and trained many organizations globally. Redmond is also an accomplished author and international speaker, recognized for her contributions to the field.

“I ensured the book includes best practices from each of these standards,” Redmond said. “I aimed to make it equally valuable to both students and experienced practitioners. It features a road map for implementing a program and contains lots of easy-to-use checklists.

“I believe organizational resiliency requires proper risk assessments, impact analysis, strategies, and plans, along with ensuring teams are well-prepared for any disaster or event,” Redmond continued. “I understand the need for detailed and engaging books. As a practitioner and auditor, I know the complexity of the subject and how critical it is to implement a plan properly.”

“Mastering Your Work-Life Balance” is available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Walmart, Thrift Books, and several other book sellers.

Redmond is also the author of “Mastering Your Introduction to Cyber Security” and “Evolving Roles of Chief Information Security Officers and Chief Risk Officers.”

She plans to write about several other intriguing business resilience topics in the future.

“The fields of business continuity management, emergency management, and information and cybersecurity are continually evolving as new threats emerge,” Redmond said. “Artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and cloud security are integral to modern business. Staying ahead of new threats in these and other areas will remain an ongoing challenge.”
