ARNOLD, Mo. – Tracey Rice was recently appointed to the Disaster Recovery Journal Executive Council.
Rice is the senior vice president of customer success at Fusion Risk Management.
“We are delighted to have Tracey join the executive council,” said Bob Arnold, DRJ president. “She is an amazing mentor with a tremendous amount of work experience and leadership to share with professionals in the industry.”
The DRJ Executive Council is comprised of senior-level executives within the business continuity/disaster recovery industry. The council serves in an advisory role to help Disaster Recovery Journal leadership define and execute their strategic vision.
“I have served four years on the DRJ Editorial Advisory Board as the chairperson of Career Development,” said Rice. “A few key highlights are the Career Spotlights and the DRJ Mentor Program.
“The Career Spotlights tell the stories of our members from both a newcomer and seasoned professional perspective. These spotlights were an inspiration to the DRJ community sharing experiences, successes, lessons learned, and advice on careers in our evolving industry. The DRJ Mentor Program would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the career development and mentor program committee.
“I was humbled to be part of this initiative enabling mentors and mentees from around the globe to form mentoring partnerships,” said Rice. “This program is a game changer – mentees learn from some of the best in the industry, and mentors pay it forward by sharing their wisdom with the next generation.”
Jon Seals, DRJ editor in chief, said Rice is one of his favorite people in the industry.
“She’s a driving force behind every project in which she takes part.”
Rice recalled when she first began as an ambitious and excited young professional. Her love for adventure inspired her to join business continuity/disaster recovery after graduating from the University of the West of Scotland. An opportunity then arose for her to work in software development in the U.S.
At the time, Rice had very little knowledge of the industry but found it intriguing. Now more than two decades later, she has turned that one-year experience into a thriving career. She has combined her passion and positive attitude with her excellent communication skills to become the accomplished leader she is today.
Adept and talented in translating complex business requirements into innovative and strategic solutions, Rice uses high energy and integrity to excel in partnering with customers to support and evolve their global continuity programs.
Rice brings more than 20 years of experience in business continuity/disaster recovery, product development and management, and customer success with her to the DRJ Executive Council.
She said her work with DRJ EAB has been very fulfilling.
“It’s been a great opportunity for me to be part of a community invested in people and their careers,” she said. “I believe the business continuity industry is very unique, where we work together both in and out of crisis.”
Rice said it’s important for industry professionals to share experiences, advice, and information to help people, companies, infrastructure, and resiliency.
“I am thrilled to continue my journey with DRJ by serving on the DRJ Executive Council, where I will continue to focus on developing community, people and innovation in our industry,” she said.
Rice has worked for five years at Fusion Risk Management, the leading software and consulting company for business continuity management, IT disaster recovery, integrated risk management, and crisis and incident management recognized by the Business Continuity Institute, Disaster Recovery Institute, Gartner, and more.
She earned the Business Continuity Institute’s Personality of the Year (Americas) for three consecutive years in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
