Nate Bridges

Nate Bridges is the managing principal of True North Resiliency and Technology Services, a veteran-owned small business, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Nate serves as the resiliency consulting practice leader and strategic resourcing executive.

Prior to founding the company in 2017, Nate acquired more than 18 years of domestic and international experience in enterprise risk management, business continuity, crisis management, country, site and proximity risk assessments, technical continuity and third party risk in global organizations; including Wells Fargo, E*TRADE, TIAA, Asurion, General Electric and Bank of America. He is recognized for building collaborative relationships with diverse teams and leveraging a consultative style to diplomatically challenge existing condition from multiple perspectives.

Nate is a veteran of the US Army and a Master Business Continuity Planner (MBCP) certified through DRII, Member Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) through the BCI, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the PMI. Nate currently serves as the mentoring program lead on the Disaster Recovery Journal career development committee.

Kim Jackson

Kim Jackson is a certified Business Continuity Planner with over 20 years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, Crisis Management, and Emergency Response. Kim has spent a great deal of her time developing or improving existing programs for several large Financial Institutions within the US, as well as Human Capital Management, and Financial Technical firms. Kim has spoke at conference such as Secure World on how to successfully blend business continuity concepts into cyber related incidents to reduce brand impacts to organizations. Currently Kim leads Crisis Management for Fiserv in which she is responsible for large scale incidents impacting the organization. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and resides in Atlanta Georgia.

Jocelyn Jones

Jocelyn Jones is a Vice President, Business Continuity Manager at Synchrony Financial (SYF). In this role, she is responsible for the planning, execution and testing for all aspects of the Business Continuity Program Lifecycle for specific business areas. Jocelyn is experienced with Business Continuity Program development, maturity and execution as well providing program leadership, oversight and governance.

Prior to Synchrony, Jocelyn gained more than 30 years of work experience in the financial services with 18 years of specific focus on enterprise level Business Continuity, Crisis Management/Incident Response, Supplier Risk Management, Operations and Customer Service that span a variety of Fortune 500 companies including TIAA-CREF and Wells Fargo.

Jocelyn holds an official CBCP certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) and currently serves on the Board of the local Business Continuity Professional Association (Continuity Planners of the Carolinas (CPAC)).

Veronica Krepshaw

Veronica Krepshaw is an operational risk leader with over twenty (20) years' experience working for both private and public Fortune 100 financial institutions. Ms. Krepshaw is currently the Senior Director, Corporate Business Continuity and Enterprise Crisis Management Leader for TIAA. Since joining TIAA, Ms. Krepshaw has transformed the entire Business Continuity and Crisis Management Programs, moving all plan components and urgent communications to new platforms and redesigning the planning methodology and processes to align to regulatory requirements. Additionally, Ms. Krepshaw developed and implemented seven (7) unique business continuity and crisis management web-based training courses specific to roles and responsibilities including a mandatory annual all employee awareness course.

Past Experience Prior to joining TIAA in 2015, Ms. Krepshaw was the Business Continuity Program Governance and Management Information Systems Leader for GE Capital Retail Finance (GECRF), the largest provider of private label credit cards in the United States. While at GECRF, Ms. Krepshaw developed and implemented tools to track and report on program and risk issue progress, improvements and ongoing strategies to include deficiency/gap/risk remediation status and trending. Also, she authored and published policies, standards and standard operating procedures to identify requirements driving risk compliance metrics at both the program and component levels for business continuity, disaster recovery and supplier resiliency risk.

From 2005 through 2013, Ms. Krepshaw held several key operational risk roles at Bank of America. As the Mortgage Technology and Operations Exam Engagement Program Manager, she liaised to facilitate timely responses to regulators and audit examiners for the Mortgage Technology Division. She led the Mortgage Technology Disaster Recovery Program and integrated the Countrywide acquisition remediating significant technical resiliency deficiencies of the legacy platforms.

Prior to the Mortgage Technology role, Ms. Krepshaw was the Crisis Management Leader for Global Consumer and Small Business Banking where she was responsible for crisis management for all Bank of America consumer banking centers (>6100) across the United States, plus emergency response and recovery for consumer and small business lending, mortgage, and credit cards. She also spent several years in the Bank of America Corporate Business Continuity Group where she designed and implemented the corporate pandemic planning strategy and authored enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery policies, procedures, and standards.

From 1998 to 2015, Ms. Krepshaw held similar operational risk roles at Wachovia (now Wells Fargo), working in the Corporate Business Continuity Office as well as the Capital Markets and Fixed Income Groups. She served seven (7) years of active duty service in the US Army in the Military Intelligence Command as Chinese Mandarin cryptologist and voice translator.

Cheyene Marling

Cheyene Marling, Hon. MBCI has been an executive recruiter for over 22 years, with 20 of those years specializing in the business continuity field. She founded BC Management, Inc. in 2000, and in July 2019, BC Management became a part of Avalution Consulting LLC.

Cheyene has become an integral part of the business continuity community, previously serving on the board for the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP) of Los Angeles and Orange County and currently serving on the National Board for the ACP. In addition she is an active professional on the Editorial Advisory Board for Continuity Insights. She was also the recipient of the inaugural ACP Hall of Fame award in 2006 and she was awarded an Honorary MBCI by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) in 2010.

Melissa Owings

As manager within TD Ameritrade’s Enterprise Continuity/Risk department, Owings is responsible for Business Continuity Governance including overseeing Business Continuity plan development as well as testing and vendor management.

Prior to joining TD Ameritrade in 2018, Owings served as a Business Continuity Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska for more than 11 years. Overall, she has harnessed her vast understanding of the business continuity industry to positively influence the organizations she’s worked for in this field for more than 20 years. In addition, she currently serves as President of Great Plains Contingency Planners.

Owings holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management and a Master’s Degree in Management. In her free time she enjoys mentoring at risk youth and attending her children’s sports activities.

Tracey Rice

With more than twenty years of experience in business continuity, Tracey is an accomplished industry leader and a passionate solutions evangelist, who builds relationships with BCM leaders in enterprise organizations across the globe. As Vice President of Customer Engagement at Fusion Risk Management, Tracey brings customers together, partnering with them to develop innovative solutions and to achieve new levels of program success. Tracey manages Fusion's Regional User Group Program and speaks regularly at regional, national, and global industry events.

Her dedication to the industry shows more than just through her work. Tracey serves on several industry boards, enjoys mentoring and giving back to the community. Tracey was awarded BCI Americas 2017, 2018 and 2019 Personality of the Year.

Michael Smith

Seasoned professional with twenty-five years business continuity/disaster recovery/program management/audit experience.

Currently, serving as Director, Global Business Resiliency for Asurion. Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of resiliency for this global technology company. Drove and provided strategic direction for implementation of an enterprise crisis management model to ensure the consistent and timely escalation and management of incidents / crisis across the world. Specific program components that have been implemented since my arrival, include: Site Incident Management Plans, Business Continuity Plans, Disaster Recovery Plans, Vendor Resiliency Risk, and Regional Crisis Management Teams.

Prior to Asurion, served as Managing Director of Corporate Business Continuity for TIAA-CREF (the world's largest private pension company). Responsible for all readiness planning and response for Company operations, executive crisis management, regional crisis management, regulatory compliance, supplier contingency planning, and operational continuity risk analysis / mitigation.

Ongoing governance reporting and accountability to a number of operational risk management committees, as well as ongoing CEO and Board accountability / reporting.

Prior to TIAA-CREF, instrumental in the launch of Business Continuity at AT&T Wireless. As a consultant and employee, a primary driver in the development and implementation of continuity plans and recovery standards in the Wireless Network Service’s (WNS) group, and business process across multiple US locations.

Prior to AT&T Wireless, served as an IT Program Manager at Webvan. At this internet startup, responsible for architecture, vendor relations, storefront reliability, as well as overall disaster recovery strategies.
