What is methodology and how to evaluate & select the best methodology for your organization.
In most professions, they have specific and detailed best practices and methodologies that a particular industry has adopted and accepted. In the business continuity profession, we have not embraced a standard methodology, best practice, or standard. What we have is a countless assortment, a smorgasbord of best practices, standards, regulations, and BC tools telling us the correct way to build resiliency. And at least for me, this is all too confusing.
And the most confused, are those who are newest to our industry.
As our new normal continues to be defined, how much can we depend on these legacy processes? How much can I trust just one best practice to do the job for my organization! Is the latest and greatest, really the greatest? It is easy to become paralyzed with so many conflicting strategies.
In this webinar, we are going to take a journey called Methodology Madness and try to make some sense of our madness before we really go mad!
With so much madness, it is no surprise our industry still struggles with senior leadership’s respect and attention. A senior leader shared with me today that BC is a nebulous strategy.
For most of us, we just want something that works! Can we just pick one and go for it? Or should I know each best practices strengths and weakness before I drive in too far? Should I know enough about each one to understand it before taking that first step?
We all want something that is logically designed, follows basic business principles, and is easy to communicate to others. We would also like, if possible, a methodology that is simple, practical, and painless to implement.
In this webinar we will learn what methodology is, its components, its rules, what’s flexible and what is not, and how to evaluate/select the best methodology for your organization.
And a webinar handout that includes a methodology infographic and evaluation matrix.
